Slaven Bilic has pleaded with Duncan Ferguson to reverse his decision to snub Scotland's World Cup bid by saying: "You'd be crazy not to go."Bilic, whose own ticket to France is already booked next summer with Croatia, believes his Everton team-mate would shine on the biggest soccer stage of all.
But Bilic fears Ferguson won't change his mind after his long-running feud with the Scottish FA led to his controversial decision to quit international football in the autumn - after just seven caps.
Bilic watched Ferguson destroy Bolton with his first hat-trick for Everton and then said: "I've spoken to him a few times about it and I still can't understand his decision not to go.
"I know there is history between him and the Scottish FA but I told him: 'Why not go to the World Cup and then say good-bye?'
"It's the dream of every player to play in the World Cup finals and it's only a few months away now.
"He could regret it but then he might not because it seems he would rather go on honeymoon in Las Vegas or wherever than the World Cup.
"We've all tried to persuade him. He's a good friend. But he's 26 now and knows his own mind. It's just such a terrible shame."
