TV alert: One of the top meets in the country, the Reebok Grand Prix in New York, will be held Saturday, featuring many of the top names in the sport. ESPN2 will carry a live window of the meet from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. PDT on Saturday, and CBS will have a condensed delayed version from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. PDT on Sunday.

Night with Olympians: Annette Peters, who ran in the 1992 Olympics, and Margo Jennings, who coached Maria Mutola to her Olympic gold medal, will be featured along with 1960 basketball Olympian Darrall Imhoff in "A Night with Olympians" at 6:30 p.m. June 12 at the Richard E. Wildish Community Theater, 630 Main St., Springfield. Tickets are $25 and available through the Springfield Chamber of Commerce.

Price honored: Chanelle Price has been named USA Track & Field's athlete of the week after breaking a national record in the 800 meters Saturday at the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletics Association Track and Field Championships in Shippensburg, Penn. Price, a senior at Easton High School, dominated the girls 800 meters, crossing the finish line in 2 minutes, 2.90 seconds. She finished almost 10 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Her performance broke four-time Olympian Joetta Clark-Diggs' National Federation of High Schools record (2:04.50). The time was fast enough to earn a "B" qualifier for the Olympic Trials, and Price has also been added to the field for the Prefontaine Classic.
