Watching Hibees is a Ruskie business..

A RUSSIAN football fan has spent half his year's wages -to cheer on Hibs.

Sergey Tomashevsky, 25, forked out pounds 1000 to visit Scotland and fulfil a dream to see the Hibees play.

The sports writer, whose dad was also a fan of Scottish football, and his wife Katya, 21, watched Sunday's 2-2 draw with Celtic. Sergey said: "Everyone has been so wonderful and friendly- it's all been worth it."

Edinburgh Taxi driver Gibby Newton acted as a guide for the couple, from southern Russia, on their trip.

He met Sergey when Hibs played a UEFA Cup tie in Ukraine last year.
