PERVERT BROWN FLEES TO HIS SCOTTISH HIDEAWAY; Paedophile free after four years.

BIBLE-BASHING pervert Lindsay Brown has walked free from jail - and fled Northern Ireland to safety.

The Sunday Mirror has learned that the paedophile, branded "evil" and a danger to young boys by a judge, bolted to Scotland last week where is now holed up with church friends.

Northern Ireland's most notorious serial sex abuser has served less than four years of his seven-year sentence for a catalogue of sex offences.

Brown, 60, the deputy headmaster of Bangor Grammar School, was jailed in 1998 for the systematic abuse of nine young boys.

On Friday morning, disgraced Brown was taken from Magilligan Prison in Coy Derry by his solicitor and driven to the City of Derry Airport.

There he boarded a mid-morning flight to Glasgow.

Sources said he decided on Scotland because of his contacts with fundamentalist Christian groups.

A security source said: "He was disappointed when he walked out the gates of Magilligan - because no one from the media was there to meet him.''

Before leaving the province, Brown had to give the RUC's Force Intelligence Bureau his exact address as he had to sign its sex offenders register.

There has been a storm of protest around Brown's parole arrangements and pension payouts in the past and his victims are outraged by his release last week.

Last year, the Sunday Mirror revealed that Brown had received his pension in prison.

The authorities claimed he was entitled to the cash - rumoured to be around pounds 50,000.

Also, Brown was granted a three-day parole, after serving just two years of his sentence.

One victim raged: "He should have been made to serve all his time in prison for what he did to us.

"We are also outraged that he will face no further prosecution. They should have thrown the book at time.''

During his time in prison the disgraced academic, dubbed 'the Prof', had no visitors, received no parcels and was forced to wear other prisoners' cast-off clothing.
