MAN HELD AFTER TONGUE ATTACK.

DETECTIVES hunting a sex attacker who bit off a woman's tongue were last night quizzing a man arrested hundreds of miles from the scene of the horrific assault.

The man was arrested in the Suffolk town of Ipswich late on Friday night - less than 24 hours after the attack in Blackpool, Lancashire.

Detective Superintendent Ian Jones of Lancashire Police said the man had been arrested on suspicion of indecent assault and attempted abduction. A man was being sought in connection with three attacks on Friday morning, two in Blackpool and the other in Knutsford, Cheshire. In one, a 26 year-old woman had part of her tongue bitten off.
