Football: Lions to take SFA to court.

THE Hassan Kachloul affair took an unexpected twist last night after Livingston announced they are taking legal action against the SFA.

The SFA hearing into Livi's appeal against their pounds 15,000 fine from the SPL board for serious breach of the registration rules was due to take place today.

But it has been scrapped - because the West Lothian club are taking THEM to court!

Livingston don't believe they will get a fair hearing from the ruling body.

As a result, they're demanding a judicial hearing into the SFA's role in the furore over the signing of midfielder Kachloul, who was signed as an amateur, but paid as a professional.

A club's statement read: "Livingston has petitioned for a judicial review of actions taken recently by the SFA in connection with Hassan Kachloul - as a result, Livingston has withdrawn its appeal against the adjudication of the SPL."

The SFA appeals committee recently ruled that it would hear Dundee's appeal against the SPL board's decision not to deduct points from Livi and thus demote them.

But Livi's latest tactic means that the SPL season will almost certainly have kicked off by the time Dundee's case comes to court.
