A rare look at town's good old days.

RARE film footage of Nuneaton will be shown in public for the first time when members of the Bedworth Society, hold their next meeting.

The heritage group's February meeting, which is open to the public, will be devoted to Nuneaton Memories and will include a slide show of Nuneaton over the past 50 years.

The photographs come from the huge collection amassed by Nuneaton amateur photographer Reg Bull and deposited at the Warwickshire County Record Office after his death in 1999.

Society spokesman Denis Baylis said: "Included will be rare film footage shot by Reg Bull and only now, we think, shown for the first time.

"It will be a valuable opportunity to see how Nuneaton has changed over the post-war period through the eyes of a local resident with a passion for photography.

The presentation will be given by society president John Burton, at Bedworth Civic Hall on Monday, February 2, at 7pm.

It is open to the public.
