Workman fraud rap.
Byline: JAMES TAITAN ALLEGED bogus workman was yesterday accused of 33 fraud offences.
Darren Carson, 21, appeared in private at Falkirk Sheriff Court.
He was charged with conning people, many of them elderly, into giving him cash for jobs that he didn't do.
Carson, of Camelon, Falkirk, was also accused of two charges of theft from bank cash points.
He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody.
The court appearance followed a major operation by CID officers at Central Scotland Police.
Over the past two months, the officers have investigated a spate of bogus workman allegations from people in the Falkirk area.
The alleged victims included a 94-year-old woman.
