Well duo fly home.

Motherwell's Austrian duo Franz Resch and Mario Dorner have flown home to fight for their freedom to play in Scotland.

They were locked in talks with their lawyers in Vienna last night after FIFA said they were still tied to their old club Modling.

Fir Park boss Alex McLeish said: "They were near to tears when we told them.

"We're just as shocked as we believed everything was clear for us to sign them."

Modling claim they have a document saying the pair should stay with them for another season and want a pounds 225,000 fee.

If the matter can't be sorted out between the clubs FIFA will make a binding decision on September 1.

Resch, who has five caps, said: "We are both big fans of British football - we are not here for the money."
