Well ahead in bid to land Austrians.

Motherwell look like winning their fight to sign two Austrians.

And they're praying a deal will be finalised in time for Franz Resch and Mario Dorner to face Aston Villa tomorrow.

The pair were last night ready to fly to Scotland after their club Modling reviewed their plight.

Well secretary Alan Dick said: "We have not paid any extra money but there has been movement from Modling on the issue.

"We believe we could yet be successful in getting both players. If Modling give the go- ahead and we can get the paperwork done in time, they could be included against Villa."

Well received clearance for French defender David Nouma from Monticcelo to play at Hartlepool last night.

And they hope to get the go-ahead to field his compatriot keeper Pegguy Arphexad against Villa.

Dunfermline boss Bert Paton is set to give a trial to a mystery striker against Coventry. The player was recommended by new signing Dave Barnett.
