WOMAN Letters.

I enjoyed your feature on the millionairess "Golden Girls" (Mirror Woman, Sept 4).

The one I most admire is pools winner Rodica Woodcock.

She still seems to be very down to earth. Not only is she still going to work, but she continues to realise the importance of the saying: "It's the thought that counts."

I wish her much enjoyment spending her winnings.

After reading the article on Marie Harvey and her family of 13 (Mirror Woman, Sept 4), I now feel I should give myself a good talking to.

I live on my own in an average-size flat and I moan about doing the washing and housework once a week, never mind every day. Marie deserves lots of credit, being able to do the housework and also having the time to be a good mum.

Jennifer Hill Winchester, Hants

As an only child I couldn't help feeling envious of Marie Harvey's large family.

I lost both my parents recently and was left to carry the burden of grief alone.

I did get support from close relatives and friends, but I felt that nobody truly understood what I was going through.

The Harvey children will never experience feelings of loneliness and will always have a close friend to turn to.

What a comforting thought.

Josie Taylor Woking, Surrey

I felt dreadfully sorry for the parents of the drowned youngsters Jodi and Tom Loughlin when they faced the world on television to talk about the tragic loss of their children.

They were amazingly calm and collected, and because of that came in for some scrutiny about how they could face the cameras without breaking down.

How can anybody know what is going through this tragic couple's minds? People cope with bereavement in different ways.

They are a marvellously strong couple who need nothing but our praise and encouragement.

It was refreshing to open Mirror Woman last week and read about Daniela Denby-Ashe.

She seems like a genuinely nice girl and it appears that her head is firmly screwed on.

I am sure she will not end up like "the other Danniella in EastEnders" (Westbrook) who admitted she took drugs.
