The platinum prints of medieval cathedral architecture by British photographer Frederick Evans (1853-1943) are the subject of this oversized catalogue(9.25x11.25"), published to accompany an exhibition held at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles and the National Media Museum in Bradford, England, in 2010-2011. Three essays introduce the plates, describing Evans's career, his method and philosophy of photography, and his involvement in the Linked Ring photographers club. The catalogue offers full-page color plates of Evans's exquisite photos, which include a number of portraits, among them a full-length portrait of George Bernard Shaw, and a profile of Aubrey Beardsley.
