Tears as Rowling vanishes.
HARRY Potter fans were left close to tears last night when the wizard boy's creator pulled off a vanishing trick of her own.Nearly 100 children turned up at Edinburgh's Waverley Station to see author J K Rowling arrive on the Hogwart express.
As the steam carriage pulled in, the author used a blonde decoy to attract the kids' attention - while she leapt off the rear carriage into a waiting car.
She was at a book signing at the city's Assembly Rooms an hour later.
Eight-year-old Callum Mackay, from Dunure in Ayrshire, said: "I hoped she would autograph my book because I queued for it on Saturday and I'm really surprised that she just took off."
Catherine Brady brought her two children, Vincent, eight, and Louise, six, from Glasgow.
She said "It seems a shame she could not stop to say hello to the fans."
