Sindh Mohtasib orders KBCA demolition of illegal constructions.
KARACHI, April 19, 2009 (Balochistan Times) -- Sindh Ombudsman Asad Ashraf Malik has ordered the Chief Controller of Building Control Authority to take suitable legal action and demolish the buildings in North Nazimabad where building byelaws have been violated. He issued the order on complaints by Rasheed Ahmed and others about violation of approved building plans and construction of 3rd floor. The Provincial Ombudsman directed an inquiry by his Advisor Nazir Ahmed Qidwai. An explanation called from KBCA revealed that such violations had been committed in other buildings as well and Sindh Mohtasib ordered CCOB the implementation of his six-point decision which included demolition of illegal constructions and action against those involved in criminal negligence. He ordered that utility services provided to illegal constructed flats be disconnected and action be taken for cancellation or issuance of lease in such cases. He ordered that an implementation report be presented to him within 45 days and in future enforcement of approved building plan should be ensured.
