THIS is the stunning dress Katie Holmes wore to marry movie superstar Tom Cruise - at a wedding bash which cost a staggering pounds 5million.

Fashion guru Giorgio Armani designed Tom's outfit and Katie's dress - an off-theshoulder bridal gown with a train in ivory silk cadis, adorned in Valenciennes lace and Swarovski beaded crystal.

And Cruise, whose catchphrase in hit film Jerry Maguire was "show me the money", obviously enjoyed the 11-hour party - he didn't even go to bed on his wedding night.

In another bizarre twist, he took his best man on honeymoon with him and Batman Begins actress Katie, 27, to the paradise Maldive islands.

The fairytale wedding at a castle in Bracciano, Italy, featured a 130-metre red carpet and fireworks cascading down the ramparts and turrets.

The castle was festooned with 6000 red and white roses and a cascade of rose petals fell on the 150 guests as the couple cut the cake.

Famous faces at the wedding - conducted by a minister from Cruise's Scientology church - included Brooke Shields, Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez, JimCarrey and Victoria Beckham.

The couple sealed their vows with a kiss - which Armani said lasted so long, it caused guests to shout: "Stop, stop."

Shields grinned as she stumbled into her hotel at 3am. She said: "I t was wonderful. It was more than we could have ever imagined."

The couple's PR man revealed that Cruise and Holmes officially married in a civil ceremony in Los Angeles before going to Italy.
