Restaurant's new boss has some very tasty ideas.

TIMES are changing at La Gabbia restaurant in the Ouseburn Valley as they face an exciting chapter with the appointment of a new manager. Faye Driver, 25, a passionate lover of food, has taken over as manager at the popular Italian restaurant and she already has big ambitions.

As part of her new business plan, Faye intends to apply her extensive knowledge of the restaurant industry to drive in more customers and raise awareness of La Gabbia in the local community. Faye said: "Ouseburn Valley is a fantastic part of Newcastle, with lots of personality. We really want to engage the local community and businesses and work together as a team to make the best of the area."

La Gabbia is now a fully-licensed restaurant, however, it still offers the 'bring your own bottle' option, which has always been a firm favourite for many regulars.

Faye said: "La Gabbia is a restaurant full of character, serving superb Italian food, and I plan on spreading that message far and wide.

"We have one of the best head chefs in the region and our kitchen crew are all native Italians from different parts of the country, meaning not only are guests provided with authentic, beautiful food, they can also try cuisine that is influenced by different regions in Italy. I would recommend our traditional Italian stew, a definite favourite of mine."
