Pudsey gives sports cash to towns.
YOUNGSTERS in Nuneaton and Bedworth have been given thousands of pounds to spend on sport.The money - pounds 3,450 - has been given to Nuneaton and Bedworth's Leisure Trust by BBC Children in Need.
The cash will be used by the Anti-Drugs Sports Officer project to give youngsters the chance to get involved in sport - instead of getting interested in drugs and petty crime.
In partnership with Children in Need, the sports development team will be holding five-a-side football tournaments for girls at Bedworth, Keresley and Camp Hill.
Anti-drugs sports officer Sarah Westlake said: "This is an exciting opportunity for girls to be involved in sport in their community - and then be signposted to develop their sporting skills. I can help in organising a team for the tournaments. If you are a community group, residents' association or simply a group of girls who hang out together, help is at hand. Call or e-mail and I'll point you in the right direction.
"Children in Need is a great cause and it is excellent that residents and especially young people know that money from this BBC event will be reaching our community."
