Our say.
THE good marks awarded to many of our schools on Teesside in the GCSE league tables is heartening.And even better than that is the vow from education chiefs that they will continue to strive to raise standards.
Results in these exams have improved generally across the whole area.
This matches an encouraging trend in recent years which has seen our schools on the up.
It's a tribute to hard work in the classrooms and in the partnerships that have been forged.
From inspirational head teachers to dedicated staff, from committed pupils to involved parents, the improvement in results comes of good practice and solid teamwork.
It augurs well for the future.
The better we educate and inspire our young people the better our chances of improving the area's quality of life and economic prosperity.
The strides being made in developing and improving our education system make good news for the pupils who go through the system - and good news for the Tees Valley as a whole.
