Our Say.

A TOP Ten rating for the King's Academy is a tremendous accolade for the school, and another source of pride for the Tees Valley.

What makes it particularly satisfying is that this ranking is based on figures that take outside factors into account.

Issues involving such things as special educational needs, movement between schools and pupils' family circumstances are all considered.

The resulting picture can then give a true reflection of the school's performance in 'the real world'.

These are the kind of educational standards we should aspire to: not only judging levels of pass rates in exams, but measuring the excellence of teaching and learning support alongside an ethos that successfully encourages all students to aspire, improve, and be the best they can be.

This rating for King's Academy is a tribute to the staff, the parents and the pupils.

A NATIONAL skills academy for the process industries based on Teesside would be great news.

We can provide top job prospects on our doorstep, and this NEPIC plan would help give our employers the talented workforce they crave.

If we can bring this academy here, everyone involved will be a winner - and the Tees Valley economy will get a massive boost.
