Unrest in Hong Kong has led to one fifth of commercial bank branches remaining closed to ride out the crisis.

As violent protests continued, approximately 19 percent of Hong Kong's 1,300 branches were shut down in recent days. Banks directed customers to use mobile and web services in order to complete their transactions.
