Lightning won't be a bash-ful bride.

Gladiators (Sat, ITV, 6.15pm)

Sexy Gladiator Lightning had to postpone her wedding because she was so battered and bruised from making the hit ITV show.

The blonde beauty, alias Kim Williams, says the high-pressure telly games left her too drained to marry her fireman fiance Francis Betts. She'd already been measured for the dress.

"I'd just finished filming and we were supposed to fly off to the Maldives," says Kim, 25. "But I'd got so banged around and bruised in Gladiators, and I was also so stressed and physically tired that I couldn't cope with the wedding straight after.

"It's exhausting doing two shows a day for four weeks. In the end I told Francis we'd have to get married some other time.

"He was disappointed but understood the problem. I felt I couldn't cope. We haven't set a new date, but we will get married. That was never in question."

Kim rejects criticism that the show is too dangerous. She admits: "I'm terrified of getting injured, but if the worst happens we get the best possible attention. There's a lot of stress - you don't want to make a prat of yourself in front of millions of viewers.

"I've thought about giving up because of the risks involved, but at the end of the day we get paid for putting on a good show."
