Laser, real name Tina Andrew, 24, auditioned to appear as a contestant in the show. But she ended up being asked to become one of four new Gladiators.
Laser, Rio, Rebel and Ace will replace old favourites like Amazon, Jet and Raider - and Zodiac is out through injury.
The fifth series of the hit show begins next month.
