LIST-JUMP DOC FACES BOSSES.
DOCTOR Robert Wood was last night rapped by his bosses.A source close to Tayside University NHS Hospitals Trust last night said of Mr Wood: "He couldn't be sacked or have disciplinary action taken against him because of an acute shortage of specialists in the UK.
"So trust officials gave him a bit of a talking to instead."
Earleir, a spokesman for First Minister Donald Dewar also condemned the doctors' practice of encouraging patients to lie about the severity of their conditions.
The spokesman said: "If you are encouraging people to jump the queue, then you affect other consultants who are playing by the rules.
"It just doesn't help if someone encourages people who perhaps are not as serious to jump the queue beyond somebody who is."
