RIDICULOUS! Eric Black is a young manager with good ideas which were starting to pay dividends. I doubt Gary McAllister would have been treated so badly.

As for Peter Reid - well he's failed consistently at other clubs - probably just what the board are looking for !

I AM very worried now. The team had started to show signs of gelling and just needed tweaking with a target man and a couple of defenders,which Eric was trying to sort out (Lowe, Grainger and Clarke).

If Peter Reid takes over the slick passing game we have been seeing lately will go and we will become like his Sunderland and Leeds teams (workmanlike and unsuccessful).

This will damage season ticket sales bigtime!

I AM really baffled by this decision, and the timing of it.

Why sack Eric Black with a few games to go and when this has probably been the best season for us since relegation. There is a lot of promise in the team.

Is there more going on? Peter Reid is a good manager, but will he want the job if there is no more money?

HAS the chairman lost the plot? Black has done a good job since he took over. He has made us stronger, with no money to spend and has got us playing good football.

We are in danger of losing good players like Gudjonsson and Warnock - and what for, Peter Reid?

People have hardly been falling over themselves to give him a job after Leeds gave him the boot.

I really hope it is somebody else! Maybe Mr Dhinsa doesn't like him!

If we are in the top two this time next year I'll take it all back!

AS a supporter and shareholder I am very disappointed with Mr McGinnity and the rest of the board. Peter Reid will be a five minute wonder. Has the offer to buy the club anything to do with this?

I AM stunned that City have sacked Eric Black.

Although we were not consistent enough over the season we have played some superb football at times, and Eric Black has not been afraid to change things when they weren't working.

He should have been given longer to build and get us to the Premiership, if he failed next season then maybe change the manager, but not now!

As for Peter Reid and his boring brand of football you must be joking! Finally is there more to this Jojar Dhinsa story than the club are letting on?

Just as the sky seems to be turning blue again Mike decides to bring in yet another cowboy. Peter Reid is not the man for the job, learn from the mistakes of Sunderland and Leeds.

SACKING Eric Black is an absolute disgrace. Mike McGinnity said that he was going to be open with the fans about the running of the club, yet this scenario is exactly like what Bryan Richardson would have done.

Remember Robbie Keane being sold behind Gordon Strachan's back?

Now Eric Black - a very good manager - is sacked behind not only his back but also the fans'.

This is an absolute disgrace and Mike and the rest of the board should be ashamed of themselves. Peter Reid? Long ball football? No thanks.

Eric Black brought with him an exciting style of football, we win 5- 2, yet he gets sacked. That is just stupid!

COVENTRY CITY have just beaten Gillingham 5-2 away from home, a great result and the reward for Eric Black is the sack!

How a manager is supposed to be successful with a team made up of players on loan from other clubs and no money availiable to him is beyond me.

Eric did a good job on a shoestring and I can only hope the board will afford the new manager a bit more in the way of loyalty and money.

Roll on the new money man coming in, perhaps then we will be able to afford the team we need to get back in the Premiership.

It's an absolute disgrace, won 12 drawn 4 games, including entertaining football and for the first time in years it appears we can hit the back of the net and then they sack him - he hasn't done anything wrong.

As for Peter Reid, I doubt he will come cheap, and if he fails , I am sure his payoff will finally bankrupt the club.

There should be a vote of no confidence in the board.

I don't expect Eric will have much trouble getting another management job.

MR MCGINNITY, I really hope you know what you are doing for the wellbeing of the club I have supported my whole life.

Sacking a manager for 'inconsistency' is absolutely crazy when his factfile is far better than any of his predecessors.

You have not even given Eric Black a chance - half a season is not enough and after all he was still managing Gary McAllister's squad.

For me personally he had the right football head, he saw the flaws in our squad (Adebola etc) and made the team actually play some entertaining football.

Everyone I have spoken to agrees with me, you have treated Mr. Black with no respect and as far as I am concerned now, you are no better than Bryan Richardson.

Just when I thought this club was going somewhere - a decent young team, which was getting better all the time and one what was going to challenge for automatic promotion next year.

As for the next manager, whoever he is, he better be especially good, because if we were to have a bad season next year, it will be on your head. The fans will blame you.

Let's hope that this great squad we now have wants to play under our new manager, it wouldn't surprise me if some of them boycotted the squad altogether. I wouldn't blame them.

It looks like we have now seen the last of Warnock and Gudjohnson, players who would easily fit into the Premiership.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday Mr. McGinnity and I'm sure thousands of others do too. Perhaps then you can tell us all face to face why you have made such a ludicrous decision and just what on earth your playing at.

Eric Black should never have been sacked, Peter Reid is an under achiever and will do no good for Coventry City.

He failed at Sunderland, he did nothing for Leeds for little or no money, would those clubs want him back? He will take us nowhere. Mr McGinnity what were you thinking of.
