December 27, 2005: A six-year-old girl is snatched from her home while in the bath and is later found on Armstrong Road, Willington Quay, alone and naked.

December 30: Det Chief Insp Jim Napier reveals police are looking for a middle-aged suspect who was not known to the girl.

January 11, 2006: Voisey is questioned at his home in Blyth. He's wearing the Diadora training shoes which match those which left footprints in the bathroom.

January 17: DCI Napier releases further details of the snatch. He says the six-year-old was taken from her bathroom, driven around and repeatedly sexually assaulted.

January 31: A reconstruction is staged for the BBC's Crimewatch programme. More than 30 calls are received.

April 5: Peter Ivor Voisey, also known as Smith, 34, of Blyth, is charged with kidnap, rape and indecent assault.

October 4: Voisey appears in Newcastle Crown Court after pleading not guilty to all charges. A video of the little girl tearfully telling the court what happened is shown.

October 6: Jurors hear that Voisey originally told police he had been with his sister on the evening of December 27 but later changed his story to say he was in North Shields.

October 6: The court hears, through witness Amy Brown, Voisey told her details of the abduction that were not reported in the news.

October 12: It is revealed Voisey is already a convicted sex attacker. The sex assault happened five years ago at a leisure centre in Macclesfield and involved a 12-year-old girl.

October 20: Voisey found unanimously guilty of kidnap, rape and sexual assault.
