IT is estimated that CVC Capital Partners, the current majority shareholders in Formula 1, have made a profit of about PS5bn since 2006.
How anyone can make a dollar out of blokes racing fast cars is beyond me, but it is nevertheless a big lump of mullah, and I wish I was the majority shareholder in CVC Capital Partners.
What is great about this heartwarming news is that there is money to be made out of pastimes which appeal to middle-aged men.
I sincerely hope that CVC will now have a dabble in darts or shove h'penny, as they clearly understand how to clean up in activities that do not require a scintilla of sporting prowess.
