Homes transfer show on the road.
Byline: Sandy MckenzieAn exhibition giving an insight into the possible future for council housing in Middlesbrough is being taken around the streets of the borough.
Erimus Housing, the independent housing organisation which could take over the 13,500 council houses in the town, is organising a roadshow which will show the improvements tenants can expect if the transfer takes place.
Tenants will be able to vote later this year on the proposed transfer.
Erimus Housing's roadshow aims to give tenants the opportunity to see the quality of materials that will be used in the improvements that will be carried out to council homes if the transfer goes ahead.
Councillor Bob Brady, who is chairman of the shadow board of Erimus Housing, said: "The roadshow aims to bring home to tenants the kind of improvements which Erimus Housing will be able to carry out.
"The sole reason we are advocating transfer is that it will mean better quality housing and a better quality of life for council tenants."
