HEC Kozjak project finished.

AD ELEM and China International Water & Electric Corporation (CWE) signed a protocol on complete fulfillment of the responsibilities of the agreement on building the Kozjak hydroelectric power station on Friday. With the signing of the protocol, CWE completed the technical issues of building TEC Kozjak, whereby the two aggregates of installed power of 80 MW started operating at full capacity. These aggregates may put out 156 GWh of electricity a year in average hydrological conditions.

The first aggregate was put to trial work on 1 June 2004 and the second on 30 September 2004. Chinese Ambassador to Macedonia Dong Chunfeng said he was pleased with his cooperation with ELEM and stressed that HEC Kozjak was the biggest realized project between Macedonia and the People's Republic of China. The Kozjak dam is one of Europe's highest dams and together with the hydroelectric power station Matka completes the whole project of building hydroelectric power stations on the Treska River. They are going to produce 250 KWh of electricity a year.
