Gold Blend ad makes Simone an instant star.
The Danish beauty who set hearts racing in The Crow Road is the new face of Gold Blend.Simone Bendix is to star in the famous will-they- won't-they series of ads for Nescafe coffee.
She plays a photographer opposite hunky Hollywood actor Neil Roberts who will appear as a young business tycoon.
And Simone's sure to sizzle on both sides of the camera after winning an army of Scots admirers in her sexy scenes in The Crow Road and Taggart.
As voluptuous Verity she romped against the side of a car with sexy Dougray Scott in one of the raunchiest scenes ever seen in a Scottish programme.
And fans didn't have to wait long for more.
Simone, 27, took to the small screen again as a Russian temptress in Taggart where she cavorted with a lover while her ex stood in the wings.
She won't be baring all for the coffee commercial but she's sure to be an instant winner in the romance stakes.
The ad makers say the third series will be different.
It will still have the same theme but viewers will be in for some surprises.
Last night, Simone told the Record: "It has been a new experience for me and I'm dying to see how the plot turns out. But I've been sworn to secrecy.
"I have never wanted to do a commercial before, but the character and style of this new campaign convinced me."
The bad news for male fans is that Simone is unlikely to be sharing any coffee with them.
She's been with her composer boyfriend, Kaspar Winding, for nine years.
Kaspar, 40, was previously married to another Danish beauty, actress Brigitte Nielsen.
Simone and Kaspar live together in London, although she admits to still having a passion for Scotland. She's multi-lingual so had no problem picking up accents for her Scots roles - or an English one for Gold Blend.
The first episode of the original coffee romance starred Sharon Maughan and Tony Head as neighbours sharing the odd jar.
Their romance ran for 13 ads and in 1992 30million viewers tuned in to hear Tony tell her "I love you."
A full-length novel about the characters, Love Over Gold, made the Top 10 best-seller list.
Louise Hunt and Mark Aiken became their second pair of coffee lovers in 1993.
Sales of the coffee have increased by 70 per cent since the ads were first released.
The latests ad starring Simone will be shown during the break in Coronation Street tonight on ITV.
WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
THE first couple to set pulses racing as Mr and Ms Gold Blend have gone their separate ways since filming ended.
Sharon Maughan and Tony Head first took to the small screen in the advert in 1987 in a campaign which lasted five years.
Sharon, married to actor Trevor Eve, went back to the stage and starred in the Tom Stoppard play Arcadia.
But she is now experiencing the business from the other side of the camera.
Last month, she sold her first movie screenplay about a mother and daughter who go to Nashville to meet country legend Willie Nelson.
Tony is living and working in the States after landing a year-long contract to appear in the American comedy Buffy The Vampire Slayer.
Mark Aiken and Louise Hunt finished their run in the second series at Christmas.
Louise is now chasing big-screen roles and Mark is a regular in Channel Four comedy Dressing For Breakfast.
