GAA: Late late Durkin strike saves Sligo; FERMANAGH 0-8 SLIGO 0-8.
GUARD David Durkin was the toast of Sligo as he earned his side a draw in this bruising encounter at Irvinestown.Although Fermanagh could have had the game won at half time the visitors kept in contention with the score at 0-5 each at the interval.
Shortly after half time Fermanagh lost half-back Justin Gilheaney, the victim of a blatant body check.
This brought the best out of his side as they pulled away to a 0-8 to 0-5 lead after 14 minutes of the second half, with points from Tom Brewster (2) and Rory Gallagher.
By this stage Sligo had moved Eamonn O'Hara to midfield and introducing Keane, Killeen and Walsh to the attack.
Through the efforts of this quartet Sligo came good in the final 15 minutes although their next point scored by Paul Taylor had a bizarre build-up.
It followed a curious decision by the referee to penalise Fermanagh's Colm Courtney for illegal use of the foot after he had done well to field a high ball, falling to the ground as he did so.
In their next attack Taylor pointed a free to leave a single point between the teams with four minutes to go after which his team had a definite goal chance but Killeen shot wide.
The equaliser eventually came courtesy of half back David Durkin in a move involving O'Hara, Walsh and Cawley.
