Football: COMING HOME; City's FA Cup slayer in link-up with Bluebirds.
Byline: Terry Phillips Chief Sports WriterLEE Fowler, the teenager who knocked Cardiff City out of the FA Cup, is now hoping to play a part in the Bluebirds' promotion push.
Cardiff-born Fowler, 19, is on trial from First Division Coventry and admitted: ``It would be a dream move to join Cardiff City.''
Wales Under-21 international Fowler will train with Cardiff this week and manager Lennie Lawrence has stressed he is keen on the midfield player.
``Lee certainly played well against us in the FA Cup and he is here with a view to staying longer,'' said Lawrence.
``He is a Welsh lad and desperate to play for Cardiff C i t y.''
Attacking midfield player Fowler spent six years at Ninian Park as a junior, joining the Bluebirds at eight-years-old and moving on to Coventry when he was 14.
He broke into Coventry's Premiership squad at the age of 16 - being a non-playing substitute against Newcastle United and Leeds United --before a knee ligament injury put him out of contention.
Fowler is still with Coventry City, but Sky Blues manager Gary McAllister will allow him to join Cardiff on loan or in a permanent move. There is unlikely to be a transfer fee involved.
``When I was with Cardiff City as a junior they weren't too well organised,'' said Fowle r.
``That's all changed now. They are an ambitious club, I would love to play for. I am ambitious and believe I have the ability to one day play for Wa
es . ``But I have to be playing first team football on a regular basis and it would great if I could do that with Cardiff.''
Fowler, nicknamed Growler because he snaps at the heels of opposing players, was in the Coventry City team who reached the FA Youth Cup final before losing to Arsenal.
