Families' bitterness.
THE families of the children killed by Myra Hindley and Ian Brady greeted the news of her death with a mixture of relief and bitterness.Winnie Johnson has campaigned for 38 years to learn where the body of her son, Keith, was dumped.
Last night she said: 'I was hoping that she would say something before she died but it looks as if she hasn't, so I have got to live with it again. She will go straight to Hell where she deserves to go.'
Alan West, the stepfather of Lesley Ann Downey and the widower of Lesley Ann's mother Anne, said: 'I'm glad Hindley has gone - Hell will be too good for her. She was evil.
'The horror of what happened to Lesley Ann also killed my wife.'
John Kilbride's brother Terry said: 'I am just really sorry that my mother is not here to witness this.
'She died three months ago.'
The reaction of Brady to Hindley's death is not known, but while she never gave up hope of freedom, he is resigned to dying in captivity.
The infamous child killer, who was force fed after going on a hunger strike at the end 1999, has said he would rather die than 'rot slowly' in prison.
