Sick girl reunited with her lost dog
An 8-year-old Charlton girl has her assistance dog back after it jumped from a truck on Route 148 in Brookfield on Aug. 2.
Sparky, a Peke-a-Poo pug mix, apparently spent a few days in the custody of the Warren animal control officer before being reunited with Denise Mutlick and her daughter, Emily, on Friday.
The dog had jumped out of the truck when Emily's mother's boyfriend, John "Jack" Gagnon, stopped on the way back from a camping trip.
A search turned up nothing, and despite several sightings and the distribution of hundreds of posters, the family couldn't find the dog - until Friday, when it was realized the dog had been found and was in Warren.
The dog is Emily's companion and helps her by sitting with her during medical treatments for her cystic fibrosis.

5 people are facing marijuana charges
WEBSTER - Five people have been arrested and charged with trying to sell marijuana.
Police said that as a result of a drug investigation and subsequent search, using a search warrant, last month at 54 Lake St., Officer Gordon Wentworth arrested David Nicholopoulos, Trent Nicholopoulos, Phet Gouvonvong, Sha Lisa Gonzales and Kayal Strozina, all charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and drug violation near a school/park.
Kathleen E. Nicholopoulos was also charged with the same offenses but not placed under arrest.
According to the police report, more than an ounce of marijuana was hidden in several places throughout the home and was packaged so as to be readily accessible for sale.
