FOOTBALL: TEL: INCE IS STAYING PUT.

TRANMERE have been warned that former England captain Paul Ince will not be allowed to leave Middlesbrough.

The first division strugglers - who recently parted company with John Aldridge - have put the midfield battleron their list of possible replacements. But coach Terry Venables insisted the 33-year-old will stay to help fourth-bottom Boro's fight against possible relegation. Ince, who lives near Tranmere's Prenton Park ground, wants to move into management eventually and could be handed a player-coach role by Boro in the summer. But the former England skipper is likely to quit Teesside if they are relegated.
