Dinosaur toe found.
A RARE fossilised big toe from a 140million-year-old dinosaur has been found by a quarryman.Dale Brockelhurst, 47, spotted the 10ins meta-tarsal while waiting for a colleague after work.
Experts at first thought it was a limb bone from a smaller dinosaur. But now they say it is a titanosaurus - a 60ft, 20 ton vegetarian lizard.
Dale said: "I was really chuffed when I found out what this was."
Fossils of the beast, similar to a diplodocus, have previously been found in Asia and South America.
Scientists hope to find more dinosaur remains at the quarry on the Isle of Portland, Dorset.
