Courteeners star to play acoustic set in Wrexham.
THE Courteeners frontman Liam Fray will play an intimate acoustic gig in Wrexham as part of his UK tour, it has been announced.
It is the first time the You're Not Nineteen Forever singer will perform in North Wales.
Fans will be able to get up close and personal to the Mancunian indie star at Central Station nightclub on Tuesday, October 31.
With a capacity of just 900, it is expected that tickets will sell out fast.
Fray has promised to perform Courteeners classics, which include favourites Acrylic, Cavorting, What Took You So Long? and You're Not Nineteen Forever, as well as his lesser played tracks from debut album St Jude, Falcon and Anna.
On Friday, Fray tweeted that he might have "a little announcement" before he revealed the exciting news that he would be touring the UK.
A support act is still to be confirmed.
The 13-date tour will visit other intimate venues across the country including Manchester's Albert Hall on November 3 and 4 and Liverpool's O2 Academy on October 30.
It comes two months after the Couteeners' biggest gig after 50,000 fans filling Manchester's Emirates Old Trafford ground where they played an emotional tribute to the victims of the Manchester terror attack.
Fray, who formed the band in 2006 rose to fame in 2008 following the release of his debut studio album, St Jude, that reached number four in the UK album charts and went on to achieve gold stats.
Not Nineteen Forever, a single from their debut album is still their highest charting single to date.
The band who also played at Glastonbury again this summer released their fifth album, Mapping the Rendezvous last October.
Tickets will go on sale to the general public from 9am on Friday, August 4. They are available to buy on Ticketmaster.com.
