CRICKET ACE CUTS THE MUSTARD AT OPENING OF NEW RESTAURANT.

CRICKET ace Phil Mustard lived up to his namesake when he opened a new restaurant.

The Durham and England star exchanged his bat for a bowl at Durham restaurant Mrs Mustard.

The restaurant, at Saddler Street, is named in tribute to Durham woman Mrs Clements who is credited with inventing modern-day mustard.

She revolutionised the mustard industry when she first ground seeds into a powder in the very street the restaurant stands.

Durham was the first place in the world to use mustard powder almost 300 years ago.

The restaurant specialises in mustard with everything and is believed to be the first mustard-inspired restaurants in the country.

The staff are trained to advise customers which of the mustards will best complement the dishes they have chosen.
