Bloodstock Update.
IN COMMAND, who suffered fertility problems during his first season at Morristown Lattin Stud in Ireland this year, is to stand at Barton Stud near Newmarket in 2000. His fee will be pounds 3,000 (October 1).The Dewhurst Stakes winner, a half-brother to Royal Applause and Lyric Fantasy, was believed to have problems with his quantity of sperm production, a trait not uncommon among sons and grandsons of Northern Dancer. As a result, he is to be limited to 33 mares.
HAMAS, the July Cup hero whose 1999 winners include Mitcham and Sheer Hamas, is leaving Ireland to relocate to France.
The son of Danzig and Fall Aspen moves from Derrinstown Stud, new home to Intikhab, to Haras des Chartreux, near Deauville. Hamas, who was trained by Peter Walwyn, will stand at a fee of Ff30,000 [pounds 3,060] (Oct 1) with a live foal concession.
MIDDLE PARK winner Zieten, sire of Cheveley Park Stakes one-two Seazun and Torgau, has had his fee increased to Ff100,000 [pounds 10,200] (Oct 1) for 2000 at Haras du Logis in France. Stud companion Medaaly, also a Group 1 winner at two in the Racing Post Trophy, will stand for Ff15,000 [pounds 1,530].
NOMADIC WAY, who spent the 1999 covering season at Vauterhill Stud in Devon, is to stand in 2000 at his owner's Louella Stud in Leicestershire. The Cesarewitch, Stayers' Hurdle and Irish Champion Hurdle winner is represented by his first five-year-olds this year.
THE fee for Bienamado's sire Bien Bien at Kirtlington Stud in 2000 has been set at pounds 3,000 (Oct 1). The same stud is also standing Kylian, the sire of Lady In Waiting, at a fee of pounds 2,500.
IS IT TRUE, winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile and sire of high-class US sprinter Yes It's True, is to be transferred from Walmac International near Lexington to the farm's recently opened Walmac-South facility in Florida.
