THE Street's Todd Grimshaw is out of the closet once and for all as he snogs gay nurse Karl Foster.

Unlike Coronation Street's first gay kiss when Todd (Bruno Langley) briefly pecked Nick Tilsley, this one lingers.

Chris French (Karl) said: "I have no problem playing a gay man. But my girlfriend said of the kiss scene: 'I'll make sure I'm out when it's on!"

Todd has been fighting with his sexuality after getting girlfriend Sarah Louise Platt (Tina O'Brien) pregnant, but his feelings for Karl overwhelm him.

A source said: "When Sarah finds out the dreadful truth it will destroy her".
