THE 10 youngest members on the list of Britain's richest Asians are worth pounds 220million.
With an average age of 32, the majority of them are in hi-tech industries such as mobile phones, computers and the internet. Others are in property and two are in the food business.
The Asian Rich List 2005 is headed by controversial steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, valued at pounds 13.5billion. The list, commissioned by Asian radio station Sunrise Radio, also includes actor Sir Ben Kingsley and author Salman Rushdie, each worth pounds 8m.
THE RICH LIST
1Tahir Mohsan is the founder of Time Computers, which has 130 stores across the UK. Burnley-based Mohsan, 34, is said to be worth pounds 80million, ranking him 27th in the overall list.
2 Sunny Tuli, 34, started Jean Scene, a Scottish-based fashion chain, with pounds 3,000 borrowed from his mother. It now has 48 shops and is growing rapidly. He runs it with his brother Raju, who also has the KFC franchise for Ireland. The pair are worth an estimated pounds 40 million.
3 Ajaz Ahmed, 32, below, started AKQA New Media after dropping out of university in 1993. The firm, based in London, employs 170 staff and boasts clients including Nike, Orange and BMW. Ahmed is said to be worth pounds 35m.
4= The late Yaqub Ali left Pakistan with the equivalent of pounds 4.10 in his pocket and worked as a door-to-door salesman in Glasgow. By the time of his death last year he had built a major cash-and-carry food business. It was sold and the site redeveloped as a retail park. The Ali family, now headed by his son, Rafiq, 33, has assets of pounds 18m.
4=Jati Sahni, 39, and wife Avneet, 34, came to Britain from Kuwait in 1990. Based in Manchester, they have built up VIP Computer Centre, which distributes computer components, into one of Britain's fastest growing companies. They are said to be worth pounds 18m.
6Bashir Ahmed, who died last year, built up the Cardiff-based BA Cash & Carry, now run by his son Zahier, 26, who is valued at pounds 8m.
7= Ketan Gokani, 30, owns half of Elite Mobile, a North London firm selling mobile phones and accessories. Gokani's stake in Elite is pounds 6m.
7= Essex-born Ajay Ahuja, 33, trained as an accountant after graduating with a degree in maths and economics in 1993. He started his property empire buying an ex-council house in Harlow for pounds 49,000. Today, he owns property worth more than pounds 6m and is the author of Buy-To-Let Bible.
9=Adil Ditta, 31, owned and ran Prominart Ltd, a Middlesbrough mobile phone distributor. It was taken over by Barnsley-based Ashcor Associates, which has given Ditta a seat on board of Ashcor, where he has a 25 per cent stake valued at pounds 5m.
9=Shalim Hussain was studying for his A-levels by day and working in an Indian restaurant by night when a Cardiff seafood supplier closed down. He saw the gap in the market and started Euro Foods (UK). Hussain, 32, owns a third of the business, making him worth pounds 5m.
