Mark grabs Tommo.

New Hull boss Mark Hateley made his first swoop into Scotland yesterday to snap up freed Raith keeper Scott Thomson.

The 30-year-old was axed from Stark's Park last season and rejected a move back when Jimmy Nicholl took over the hotseat.

He is Hateley's first signing for Hull - and he promises to make more raids north of the border.

The former Ranger brings his new side to Scotland next week to play Partick and Livingston and he said: "Scott has bags of experience and ability and to get him on a free is a great bit of business.

"I hope to make more signings and I'm sure I could be making more trips north of the border."
