Just pounds 3k for nurse kept in car boot; JUSTICE.

Byline: STEPHEN WHITE

A NURSE who was trussed up in her car boot for 10 days has been offered just pounds 3,000 in criminal injuries compensation.

It is less than half the pay Magdeline Makola, 39, lost while recovering from her ordeal, and equals the amount paid to prisoners forced to slop out.

Justice Ngema, 36, is now serving eight years for putting her through the ordeal in December 2008.

Her friend said: "Magdeline finds it very embarrassing.

With Ngema in jail she'd like to move on but it is holding her back.'

Victim Support Scotland is appealing on behalf of Magdeline of Livingston, West Lothian. A spokesman said: "It can be difficult for victims to put their ordeal behind them if the compensation issue is unsettled.'

The Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority said: "We pay awards under a tariff system, set by Parliament."
