Helga's homely art display.

ARTIST Helga Windle is exhibiting work inspired by her birthplace of Iceland and the world around her during a week-long exhibition at the Herbert Art Gallery in Coventry.

Ms Windle, who lives near Rugby, will display her work - 25 pieces painted over the last three years - from today until September 21 in the Jordan Well gallery.

The pieces will go on display in glass shop fronts facing the road so people can see them as they walk past.

She said: "I paint about myself, my life and the world around me in a non-representational way."

Ms Windle was born in Reykjavik, and moved to England as a youngster but regularly returns to her homeland.

She has displayed work in London, Kent and Rugby, as well as doing community art projects in Rugby, including a mosaic on the Millennium Green in Craven Road.
