Football: Ingham on show.
PREMIERSHIP-BOUND Sunderland are to hand a trial to Cliftonville goalkeeper Michael Ingham. The club's talent scout, former Everton star Andy King, was at Solitude on Saturday watching the young keeper who recently took over in goal, replacing veteran Paul Reece.
Trevor Francis' Birmingham City are already awaiting Ingham's arrival for a trial in the Midlands.
Yesterday Ingham travelled with the Northern Ireland U18 squad to Lilleshall for a three day training school.
But the St Malachy's College student will return this evening in order to prepare for tomorrow's County Antrim Shield final against Glentoran at Windsor Park.
Cliftonville won the competition three season's ago, when Paul Reece made his debut for the Reds and saved a penalty in a shoot-out win over Ballymena.
Cliftonville manager Marty Quinn said: "Michael is a good prospect and has added presence in the goalmouth. He has done a brilliant job since he came into the team and is being watched by a posse of clubs in Lilleshall.
Though he'll have to keep his head down an continue to play as well as he is.''
