Byline: WITH JESSICA CALLAN, EVA SIMPSON AND NIKI WALDEGRAVETHE never-ending saga that is the marriage of George and Alex Best has so many twists and turns that it's hard to keep up.
But we can reveal wife-beater and serial cheat George has been at it again and romped with yet another woman.
And, believe it or not, his latest conquest is a brunette.
The 57-year-old, one-time footballing legend pulled a stunning girl in her mid 20s earlier last month in his favourite drinking hole, the Phene Arms in West London.
But rather than whisking her away for a nice, romantic meal at The Ivy or San Lorenzo, chivalrous George disappeared with her into the pub's toilet.
No doubt his doormat wife Alex, 31, who received yet another smack in the face from George as a present on Christmas Day, will be overjoyed.
"No one could believe it," reveals one insider. "He was drinking in the bar and looked the worse for wear but you could tell he was waiting for someone.
"Then after a while this young, gorgeous, dark-haired girl walked in and made a beeline for him.
"They snogged each other on the lips and didn't care who saw them.
"And, after a few minutes, they left the bar area and sloped into the ladies toilets together. She went first and he followed."
Rumour has it George isn't the lothario he used to be in his younger days - when he boasted of bedding thousands of women - as he has admitted to being impotent.
But that didn't seem to matter as he spent 50 minutes locked in the toilet cubicle with the young woman.
The news is yet another blow, pardon the pun, for Alex who fled to her parents' home in Surrey after the Christmas Day bust up.
The blonde former trolley- dolly called the police after George attacked her in their pounds 840,000 home during what was supposed to be a gesture of goodwill meal.
In November Alex vowed to leave Bestie when he smashed up her Mercedes after accusing her of sleeping with Loaded magazine editor Martin Daubney after an interview.
Even though she denied a fling, he went out, got drunk and was later robbed by two hookers he brought back to his hotel.
Typically, Alex insisted she was leaving her husband of eight years and changed the locks on their home.
But, always a glutton for punishment, Mrs Best let in her husband, who is also being accused of having affairs with ropy blondes Paula Shapland and Gina Devivo.
Last night a spokesman for Best simply sighed and refused to comment.
