The Football Association board will judge next Thursday who, if anyone, was to blame for the embarrassing U-turn which led them to first deny and later confirm that England manager Sven-GUran Eriksson had had an affair with a staff secretary. If anyone at the FA is found guilty of misleading the organisation, causing them to release false legal statements, they could face misconduct charges and possible dismissal. Here are the 13 men who will decide how the FA handles the matter:

The chairman of the board has been an FA councillor since 1973 and is also on the FA's disciplinary committee.

Devon's FA representative was the first to break ranks on this matter when he told The Guardian that the organisation had been made to "look like idiots" in their handling of the Eriksson affair.

RAY KIDDELL

One of two vice-chairmen, Kiddell has been Norfolk's FA representative for the last 24 years.

PHIL GARTSIDE Phil Gartside is the chairman of Bolton Wanderers.

He is a businessman based in Lancashire and is Chairman of Chambers of Commerce North West. Phil was born in Dublin on 23rd August 1941 in the Dublin suburb of Whitehall, to parents Margaret and Patrick.
 

Chairman of Bolton who was elected to the board in the summer. Also a member of the FA Challenge Cup committee.

DAVID DEIN

Arsenal's vice-chairman holds the same title with the FA. A member of the international committee, Dein DEIN Department of Enterprise Innovation and Networks (Wales Assembly Government Department)  was instrumental in Eriksson being appointed in the first place.

RUPERT LOWE

Forthright Southampton chairman who has been on the FA board since 2003.

ROGER BURDEN

Gloucestershire's FA representative for nine years.

DAVE RICHARDS

Chairman of the Premier League and former chairman of Sheffield Wednesday. Has served on the FA council for 10 years.

MIKE RAWDING

East Riding's FA representative since 1989.

DAVID SHEEPSHANKS

Chairman of Ipswich and former chairman of the Football League. Member of the FA board since 2003 and a member of the international committee.

Kent's FA representative for 20 years and chairman of the disciplinary committee which handed down an eight-month ban to Rio Ferdinand for missing a drugs test.
