TOTAL PETROLEUM TO REBRAND AND RESTRUCTURE ITS RETAIL STORES THROUGHOUT THE MIDWEST

DENVER, Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Total Petroleum, Inc., today announced it will rebrand and restructure its gasoline/convenience stores in the United States.
Total Petroleum, an integrated refining and marketing company, operates four refineries in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Michigan and 2,600 stores in 22 midwestern states under the brand names of Vickers, Apco, Road Runner and Total. The rebranding program will consolidate all company and jobber stores under the Total name. The move is intended to provide a more consistent identity conforming to Total's specific standards of quality for all company operations.
"This decision is part of an overall restructuring program which will concentrate the company's operations along our supply lines or in nearby locales," said Daniel Valot, president and chief executive officer.
As part of Total's rebranding program, stores will be remodeled to incorporate the company's new quality and design specifications incorporating the new Total logo and store colors. The program has already begun in Colorado and is expected to be completed in all markets within two years.
Headquartered in Denver, Total Petroleum employs approximately 7,000 people nationally.
Total Petroleum, Inc., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Total Petroleum (North America) Ltd. (AMEX: TPN). Total Petroleum (North America) Ltd.'s shares are listed on the American, Toronto, Montreal and Pacific stock exchanges.
