Life for party murderer.
A window cleaner who stabbed his business partner to death at a New Year party has been jailed for life.Jason Gomez (31) plunged a six-inch kitchen knife into Robert 'Boxer' Jones while he slept at a party in Stourport-on-Severn.
Jailing Gomez for life after he admitted murder, Judge John Mott said: 'You ended this man's life with one violent, drunken action.' Worcester Crown Court heard yesterday how divorced Mr Jones, aged 38, was the driver in the window cleaning partnership, as Gomez, of Broomy Close, Stourport, was disqualified.
But the pair fell out after Mr Jones did not want to work over the holiday. On New Year's Day Gomez and Mr Jones were at a party. Gomez drank three bottles of wine plus vodka, said Yvonne Cohen QC, prosecuting. At 11.30pm Gomez stabbed him she said. He died at 2am the next day. Rachel Brand QC, defending, said Gomez was remorseful and was later seen crying.
