Kate throne alone again at wedding.

PRINCE William's girlfriend Kate Middleton attended her second royal wedding of the year yesterday - while the future King was away on drug-busting missions with the Navy.

Wearing a low-cut satin dress, Kate watched on as Lady Rose Windsor, the youngest child of the Duke of Gloucester, wed George Gilman in London.

Meanwhile, William was serving on Royal Navy frigate the Iron Duke in the Caribbean, taking part in armed boarding operations against drug traffickers.

Lady Windsor, 28, who is 23rd in line to the throne, and Mr Gilman married at the historic Queen's chapel, near St James's Palace in central London.

She wore a dress designed by Franka Couture and a tiara that once belonged to Queen Mary. Her bridesmaids were Mr Gilman's nieces, Lily, three, and Alice, nine, and her pageboy was five year-old Jesse Grylls, son of the TV star Bear Grylls.

Her godparents, the Earl of Wessex and Lady Sarah Chatto, both gave readings during the service, which was conducted by the Reverend William Scott.

Mr Gilman, 26, is the son of property developer Peter Gilman, a former director of Leeds United who was a member of the football club's board from 1980 to 1996.

Other guests included the newly-weds Autumn and Peter Phillips, the Countess of Wessex, and the Princess Royal. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh and other senior royals did not attend.

Lady Windsor has grown up away from the public spotlight, living with her parents at an apartment in Kensington Palace. She has enjoyed a successful career in the film industry as an art assistant and has worked on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
