The CNN report also noted: "Three suspected IRA members are currently jailed in Colombia suspected of training left-wing FARC Noun 1. One of those arrested was Niall Connolly -- Sinn Fein's representative in Cuba. Adams initially denied that Connolly was a Sinn Fein official, then said he had been appointed to the post without his knowledge." As we reported earlier in these pages, Connolly was arrested in August, along with IRA leaders Martin John McCauley and James Monaghan, in Bogota, Colombia. All three men had false passports and, according to Colombian authorities, forensic tests showed that all three had been handling explosives and drugs. It is believed that the trio, all of whom are IRA explosives specialists, were training the Cuban-backed FARC for a new wave of terror in Colombia and other Latin American countries.
